On October 14, the opening ceremony of the Canton Fair was held in a hybrid format.
Chu Shijia, Vice President and General Secretary of the Canton Fair and General Manager of the China Foreign Trade Center, read out a message from Xi Jinping, who greeted the exhibitors and congratulated everyone on the opening of the China Import and Export Exhibition. He noted that for 65 years, the Canton Fair has consistently made an important contribution to the development of international trade and the deepening of China's business relations with foreign partners.
In addition, welcoming speeches were made by Peruvian President Pedro Castillo, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob, Ivory Coast Prime Minister Patrick Ashi and UNCTAD Secretary General Rebeca Greenspan.
The RAUIE was represented by Alexei Fedotov, Vice President and Head of the RAUIE's Representative Office in China, and by Vice President Maxim Kuznetsov.

Alexei Fedotov noted the strength of the relations between the RAUIE and the Canton Fair. “For 15 years now, we have been helping Russian entrepreneurs learn more about the Canton Fair, about the benefits that this unique platform provides to participants and visitors,” he said.
“The COVID-19 has dealt a serious blow, but the Canton Fair team was able to quickly create a completely new network platform, and now, despite the pandemic, the Canton Fair continues to successfully being a platform for the export and import of Chinese goods. This year it is held in a hybrid format ”.
