A meeting of the RAUIE Committee on Agricultural Complex was held in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation

On June 7, the RAUIE Committee for the Development of Exports of Agro-Industrial Products to Asian Countries, together with the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs under the President of the Russian Federation and the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, held a round table “Russia-China. Prospects and ways of developing relations in the field of agricultural complex 2022”. The event was held at the site of the Civic Chamber in a hybrid format and brought together 44 in-person and more than 100 online participants.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the President of RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich: «The key consumers of agricultural products - China and Turkey remained among the friendly countries, however, the current restrictions in the banking and transport sector are still a new challenge for Russian producers of agricultural products. At the same time, new opportunities are emerging. China has already become the second largest export destination for Russian agricultural and food products, opening up access to Russian meat products, grains and legumes. Russia now has excellent competitive advantages, and our products are in demand in China. We have created a network of pavilions in China, where Russian exporters can place their samples free of charge, and we will help you to get ready for export. The event was initiated by the RAUIE Committee for the Development of Exports of Agro-Industrial Products to Asian Countries, headed by Chairman Klim Komarov (founder of Agroexport 168). During the meeting, Klim Komarov spoke about the prospects of turning the export of agriculture to the East. «In recent years, China has been actively increasing imports of agricultural products, including to replenish strategic reserves, which are the largest in the world. We analyze the market in order to constantly develop our business and provide support to Russian factories and agricultural producers in organizing the sale of products,» - said Klim Komarov. He emphasized that the turn to the East is not only a necessity, but also an important factor in the development of the Russian agro-industrial complex for the next decades.

During the event, the participants also heard the view from the Chinese side. Thus, the director of the Department for Foreign Investment Promotion of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, Mr. Sheng Guofei, told what constraints exist that hinder the development of cooperation between Russia and China in the field of agricultural machinery and gave advice on how to overcome them.
