On September 13, the president of the RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich took part in a webinar on Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of cross-border electronic commerce, organized jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The event was of a practical nature - interesting facts, trends in working with the PRC, as well as key problems were announced.
Honorary participants of the event were Minister Plenipotentiary, Adviser for Trade and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation Li Jingyuan, Director of the Department for Development and Regulation of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Lilia Shchur-Trukhanovich, Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation Zhou Liqun.
As noted by the Ministry of Economic Development, in Russia over the past year, the number of internal orders on electronic platforms increased by 75%. At the same time, the Russians willingly bought in foreign online stores - the number of orders increased to 250 million. In total, in 2020, Russians have made more than a billion online purchases. Trade with the PRC accounted for more than 70% of all cross-border trade, and China holds the undisputed leadership in e-commerce with Russia. Cross-border trade provided almost 14% of Russian consumer demand in 2020.
