On October 21, the "President Hotel" hosted the Russian summit “One Belt - One Road” 2019, at which Vice President of the RAUIE
Maxim Kuznetsov made a presentation on Russian-Chinese cooperation, where he outlined prospective areas and opportunities.
“Now the Russian economy has come out of the crisis and has become stronger in many economic indicators than it was in 2013. Russia's place in the "Doing business" ranking has improved from 112th to 28th, inflation has decreased from 6 to 4%. China is one of us priority partners because our turnover exceeds 108 billion in dollar terms, and China’s accumulated investment in Russia reaches $ 50 billion.
In 2019, we conducted a study in which we identified the top 10 problems of Asian companies in doing business with Russia, the results were as follows: 63% of respondents said that they did not know the Russian institutional environment, 58% noted their lack of knowledge of the Russian legislation and enforcement, 55% of respondents associate difficulties with a lack of relations with local authorities and local corporations, 39% do not know the basics of business culture in Russia, the language barrier mentioned by 39% of respondents, lack of information on support measures - 28%.
We are studying the experience of Chinese companies in entering the Russian market and can share tips. Successful companies studied the rules of the game in the market and adapted to them, relied on local lobbying structures, and also purposefully built relationships with government bodies and key companies from the sector. This has enabled many Chinese companies to succeed in Russia. There are unsuccessful examples, they are associated with the violation of these principles,” noted
Maxim Kuznetsov.
The forum was also attended by:
