On December 23, a meeting of region representatives with representatives of the authorities of the city of Xiaogang was held at the representative office of the Smolensk region in Moscow. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a tea processing production in the Smolensk region. Xiaogan is also interested in selling fur coats and fur products in Russia and Europe.
The Russian side was represented by
Murad Rasulov, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Administration of Smolensk Region under the Government of the Russian Federation,
Syuzanna Mkrtchyan, Head of the Special Projects Department of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE).
From the Chinese side there were:
Qiu Pingui, Chairman of the Xiaogang City Committee of the CPPCC,
Lu Junhui, Secretary General of the Xiaogang City Committee of the CPPCC,
Chen Ihua, Deputy Head of the Xiaonan District People's Government.
Murad Rasulov noted that the special economic zone in the Smolensk region could be an ideal platform for tea production. “A tea company can import goods and raw materials without paying customs duties. In the Smolensk region, there are privileges and subsidies for production, for example, free connection to engineering infrastructure, exemption from tax on land, transport and profits. We have already launched plants with a large area of over 100 thousand sq. meters, ”said
Murad Rasulov.
“Xiaogang City is one of the leading economic centers of Hubei Province. Now the years of interregional exchanges between China and Russia are passing, and therefore the purpose of our visit is to establish and develop relations with the Russian regions for further economic cooperation. We are interested in the Russian market, and we are ready to place our tea processing plant here. Russia and China are countries with a special culture of tea consumption, so we hope that our project will be economically successful, ”said the
representative of the Chinese side.
After the meeting, the Russian side will develop a roadmap for the construction of tea production in the Smolensk region, and the Chinese side, in turn, will prepare relevant documents for further cooperation with the region.
