Cross-cultural management: the key to success in Russian-Chinese business

On February 7, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted an event dedicated to building interaction with Chinese partners and making this communication result in certain positive results.

The organizers were: the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs’ Rights, and the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development.

The opening of the Chinese borders after a long quarantine gave new opportunities for business representatives to develop, and we tried to do everything so that entrepreneurs and industrialists could use them to maximize the benefit.

One of the problems in interaction is ignorance of some specific features of Chinese etiquette. It is often very difficult for foreigners to understand the local mentality, get used to the subtleties of Eastern culture and adopt its customs.

At the event, experts discussed the specifics of eastern communication, outlined current trends in bilateral business, talked about what has changed in the local market during the pandemic, and tried to give participants "instructions" for starting a business in China in present-day realities.

In addition, within the event, the opening of a new committee under the RAUIE – the Committee of Creative Industries was announced.
