On May 26, the event "An Hour with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Malaysia" - Ponomarenko Nikita Vladimirovich was held online.
The main purpose of the event is to highlight the current state and prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Malaysia.
This event in the format of videoconference and direct dialogue caused a great response from the audience. During the event, entrepreneurs from all over Russia were able to directly ask questions and get comprehensive answers to them.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the PResident of the RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich: “Dear Nikita Ponomarenko, on behalf of the RAUIE members and specialists, I would like to thank you for being able to be with us today and expressing your readiness to help Russian entrepreneurs work in the Malaysian market. Malaysia is an important trade partner of the Russian Federation among the ASEAN countries. In 2021, trade between Russia and Malaysia amounted to $3.2 billion, up 23.78% compared to 2020. And, despite the fact that this direction is new for our Union, we are confident that, together with our Trade Mission in Malaysia, we will be able to achieve success here as well.”
The Trade Representation of Russia in Malaysia registers significant interest on the part of Malaysian partners in building cooperation with Russian companies. The most prospective areas for export are high-tech industrial products, the food industry and the agro-industrial complex, the chemical industry and oil and gas services, energy, medical equipment, industrial equipment for additive technologies and 3D printing. There is a growing interest in Russian solutions in the field of digital technologies in industry, housing and communal services, and robotics.
As a part of the event, Trade Representative Nikita Ponomarenko spoke about successful cases of Russian companies in the market, talked about how the Trade Representation can help Russian companies implement their market entry strategies. The trade mission invited Russian companies - members of the RAUIE to work together.
