June 26 hosted the online webinar “Export of Russian brands to China: prospects, opportunities, practice of online promotion”, organized by the Union of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the RAUIE.
The moderator of the discussion was MCCI Vice President Suren Vardanyan. In his welcoming speech, he noted the rapid change of trends in import and export and also emphasized that Moscow and domestic organizations are doing everything possible to increase non-primary exports to China:
“China is a very complex country with a difficult sales market. Now many events are being held dedicated to this country, but unfortunately there are very few specialists who can really provide useful and reliable information”.
Vice-President of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE) Maxim Kuznetsov outlined the main drivers for the development of exports from Russia to China. This is, first of all, the development of electronic commerce, increasing the presence of Russian companies in China, production localization: “Before you start entering the PRC market, you need to study the local business culture, since it is very different from European and American". In order to make it easier for entrepreneurs to understand the mentality, the RAUIE together with the Peoples' Friendship University have developed educational programs on the business culture of Asian countries.
Anna Besmertnaya, Chairperson of the Commission on Foreign Economic Cooperation with Partners in China:
"Recently, the main advantage of China was cheap labor, which affected the price of goods. Now the socio-demographic and environmental situation leads us to start talking about the export of our Russian goods to China”.
The event was also attended by Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in China Vyacheslav Serdyukov, Director of the Department of Asia, Africa, Latin America of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Sergey Nosov, General Director of Iceberry China Nikita Kuleshin, representatives of business and associations.
At the end of the event, the speakers answered key questions of the participants and offered practical recommendations on increasing exports to the PRC.
