On December 16, the
Foshan-Russia Trade and Economic Forum was held in Moscow. The event was organized by Huamin Park with the support of RAUIE. The event was attended by the leadership of Foshan, trade advisers to the Chinese Embassy in Russia, as well as representatives of the Association of Importers and Exporters of Russia.
The president of the RAUIE, Vitaliy Mankevich, took part in the forum:
“Today, the development of Russian-Chinese trade and it's increase to the level of $200 billion by 2024 is an important task of our strategic cooperation. According to the results of 11 months of 2019, the trade turnover exceeded $100.3 billion and we expect that it will amount to $112-113 billion over the year. For 9 months of 2019, Russian imports of furniture and furniture products from China grew by 6.28% and reached $ 753.2 million. As we can see, furniture is one of the engines of Russian-Chinese trade and is growing faster than trade in general. Guangdong Province, in particular the city of Foshan, is a growth point for Russian-Chinese economic relations. Members of the RAUIE are interested in cooperation and ready to develop trade in the field of furniture products.”- said
Vitaliy Mankevich.
During the forum,
a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the leadership of Foshan and the special economic zone "Alabuga" (Republic of Tatarstan).
Foshan has the largest furniture city, with hundreds of shopping centers along a 10 kilometer highway.
The furniture city in Foshan has become the largest wholesale furniture market not only in China, but throughout the world. It's area is approximately 3 million square meters, and over 200 modern shopping complexes are located on its territory.
During informal communication, the leadership of Foshan city noted that the RAUIE will be able to promote Guangdong province products on the Russian market, and Russia will be able to offer its products in this city in China.
