On January 18, a working meeting between the President of the RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich and the Ambassador on Special Assignments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Kirill Barsky was held.
During the meeting issues of participation of small and medium-sized businesses in large international structures such as the SCO, the EAEU and in forums of the federal level, for example, SPIEF and EEF, were discussed.
Vitaly Mankevich spoke about the Union and its strategic directions: “Until last year, we worked mainly with China, now we are building relations with Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, as well as Eurasian partners such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. We would like to discuss with you the interaction and areas in which we can find common ground. Last year, we created the RAUIE Expert Council, which helps solve business problems. If large business is able to clearly define it's strategy and has the ability to resolve issues at the government level, then SMEs don't always know what they want and don't have the resources to realize their goals."
Kiril Barsky noted that the best solution would be to attract Russian entrepreneurs to participate in business councils and intergovernmental commissions of Asian countries: “Some of them operate efficiently, for example, the Russian-Indian Business Council or the Business Council of the Eurasian Economic Union. A cooperation agreement was signed between the EAEU and China. A commission will be created to approve the agenda, projects, the work of groups. The next stage is the inclusion of small and medium-sized businesses,” the Ambassador noted.
The parties also discussed support for the Greater Eurasia project, which will simplify the trading procedure and make the necessary documentation universal for all participating countries. The issue of mutual investments with the participation of Russian and Asian countries was also considered. “The new Silk Road needs a developed infrastructure and platforms for electronic commerce. This is a huge field for investment and business development at all levels,” emphasized Vitaly Mankevich.
