On October 25, with the assistance of the RAUIE, a delegation of the Chinese tobacco industry leaders visited the city of Morshansk (Tambov Region) in order to familiarize themselves with the possibilities of investment, trade and economic cooperation with the Morshansky Tobacco Factory.
During the two-day visit, the leadership of the China Tobacco Industry Development Center, as well as top managers of the tobacco plants of Shanxi, Gansu, Jilin Provinces and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region held a series of working meetings with the Tambov Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Administration of the city of Morshansk, represented by the head of the city
Aleksey Bannikov and member of the Public Chamber of the Tambov Region,
Ilya Nikolotov, director of the Morshansky ATP, as well as with the leadership of the Morshansky Tobacco Factory.
“Russia is one of the priority areas for the development of cooperation in the tobacco industry in the frame of “ One Belt - One Way ”. At present, only in China and Russia local brands of cigarettes have been preserved, while in other countries they have been completely replaced by global brands. We want to establish cooperation and are considering investment opportunities in the Morshansky factory, because it has an extensive history and its own set of tobacco brands, ” said

During the meeting, the leadership of Morshansk and the Chinese delegation exchanged gifts and created a working group to discuss the roadmap for further investment, trade and economic cooperation.
Tobacco factory is one of the oldest enterprises in the city of Morshansk, operating since 1882. Morshansk is the first city where the technology of moving buildings was tested, and during the Great Patriotic War, the city provided the entire Red Army with tobacco and shag.
