The premiere of the art show "Mysteries of the Universe" featuring plots from Russian fairy tales took place in Shanghai

In anticipation of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, the creative group Shanghai Farm of Talents (ShFT), in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Arts and the "Kitarama" project, presented the premiere of the play "Mysteries of the Universe" on the stage of the Zhangjiang Theater in Shanghai.





The play is based on the original script by Daria Yakovenko, and the creative duo of director Angie Taratuta and set designer Kirill Papernov presented "Mysteries of the Universe" to the audience as an interactive art show based on folk tales.

At the heart of the plot is the journey of two main characters who carry a rich Russian cultural code in the intergalactic, impersonal space. The play is full of elements of Russian culture and includes retellings of folk tales ("By Pike's Command", "The Blizzard", "The Nutcracker", and "The Snow Maiden"), as well as costumes stylized in the folk tradition.





Next year, the Shanghai Farm of Talents (ShFT) team plans to present a Russian language version of "Mysteries of the Universe" - the premiere of a new Russian-speaking play in China will be a significant event within the framework of the year of Russian-Chinese cultural cooperation, scheduled for March.

It is worth noting that this is not the first successful collaboration between Shanghai Farm of Talents (ShFT), the Russian Academy of Arts, and "Kitarama": in 2023, colorful performances for children in Russian and Chinese languages on the theme of Russian fairy tales took place in Shanghai, and a fair of folk crafts and Russian culture was held for everyone interested.

The events organized by Shanghai Farm of Talents (ShFT) were carried out in collaboration with the Russian Language Learning Center at Moscow State University, with the informational support of Metro 102.4 FM radio, Spacenet news agency, ArtMoskoviya, Popular Information Agency, and other partners.
