On February 14, a meeting of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society was held at the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Participants discussed an action plan for 2020, a set of measures to combat coronavirus, and accepted new members. It was on February 14, 1950 in Moscow that the Treaty of Friendship, Union and Mutual Assistance between the USSR and the PRC was signed, so the traditional meeting of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society was anniversary.

Ivan Melnikov made a welcoming speech. He noted that last year the society made a number of successes in strengthening relations between Russia and China, in particular, it contributed to the holding of the Chinese festival in Moscow. He also expressed gratitude to all those who are not indifferent to the fight against coronavirus and noted that only by joining together, Russia and China will be able to defeat the disease.
Galina Kulikova, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society, noted that the activities of the Society are recognized among the top leaders of Russia and China, and members of the CPC Central Committee. In particular, last year Galina Kulikova was awarded for her contribution to the development of relations between Russia and China.
Vitaly Mankevich also spoke about the Union’s contribution to the cultural and humanitarian cooperation of the Russian Federation and China, and also praised the activities of the Union’s members in supporting the people of China in the fight against coronavirus: the members and executives of the RAUIE collected about 2 million masks for sending to China and removed disease support video.
At the end of the event, the unanimous decision was the adoption of the the RAUIE in the ranks of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society. Vitaly Mankevich also congratulated Galina Kulikova on her birthday, and the members of the Society recorded a video in Chinese addressed to the Chinese people in support of the fight against the disease.
