operations in the field of equipment supplies between Russia and China. During the event, a lot of issues related to the problems of procurement and import of equipment to the territory of Russia, the peculiarities of customs regulation of the PRC were touched upon. The main problems of trade and economic relations development between the two countries were noted.
Maxim Kuznetsov, vice-president of the RAUIE, made a welcoming speech: “Now is a good time for investments in equipment and the real sector. Interest rates are at historic lows and they will grow as long as there is an opportunity to take out cheap loans. The Central Bank made it clear that if today the rate is 4.5%, then by next spring it will reach 6%.
Another opportunity to invest money is to fill free niches of seasonal business:
- asphalt factories, in which China now occupies a fairly high position;
- metalworking and the use of laser machines;
- laser equipment;
- blow molding machines and PET lines.
In these categories, the potential for import substitution is high, and competition is not critical.
Maxim Kuznetsov also recommended Hong Kong as the optimal jurisdiction in China in terms of taxes, regulation and investment attractiveness.
Another speaker of the event was Maya Man, Head of the RAUIE Representative Office in Shanghai and Shanghai Trade and Industrial Company MANYA Ltd, she noted: “It is definitely worth working with China, but unfortunately, there are a number of problems that many of China's partners face when purchasing equipment:
- the language barrier
- unreliable counterparties
- lack of maintenance in Russia
- expensive logistics
- legal difficulties
For 8 years we have learned how to solve these issues for our clients and make purchases of equipment in China safe and profitable for Russian buyers. "
Anna Fomicheva, the founder and head of the international consulting center Business Logistics, also took part in the conference: “Importing equipment from China today is a good preparation of a financial model and a roadmap. It is necessary to exclude intermediaries from procurement as much as possible, but equipment is an exception, since special knowledge is especially important here. "
Togther with Manya company, the RAUIE developed a business support program, helping to find industrial equipment in China for free. China is the best deal in terms of price and quality of equipment compared to Europe, Japan and Korea.
