On November 5, a meeting between the Kaluga region leadership and a delegation from Shanghai was held at the representative office of the Kaluga Region under the Government of the Russian Federation with the assistance of the RAUIE. The purpose of the meeting was the exchange of experience in managing and developing a large wholesale market for agricultural products.
Vladimir Potemkin, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region, told members of the delegation about the region:
“Kaluga Region is one of the most economically developed regions of the Russian Federation. The region occupies a leading position in Russia in terms of industrial growth, investment per capita, real income growth rate and the level of advanced technologies annually introduced into production. The basis of growth is a high quality of management, a competent investment policy and a professionally built program of support for industries. Kaluga region is one of the leaders in attracting foreign investment in the region’s economy. An effective investment development strategy has been developed in the region, a favorable investment climate has been formed, ” the deputy governor noted.
The key points of the investment strategy of the Kaluga Region are the location of production facilities in industrial parks and special economic zones, low investment risks, tax benefits and legislatively secured administrative support from the authorities and specially created development institutions.
Guests from Shanghai were impressed by the success of the Kaluga region. According to
Li Guangzi, the region is of particular interest to the Chinese side in the field of agriculture: “We are pleased that cooperation between the two countries is becoming closer. The main purpose of our visit is to discuss issues related to the agricultural sector. At the same time, we are also ready to work in other areas. We would like to exchange experience with your region ”
During the meeting, the Chinese side expressed interest in the supply of chicken and beef from the region, in turn, the Kaluga region sees the import of fish and aquaculture from China possible.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged contacts for further cooperation, and also made memorable photos.
