Trade and investment relations, tourism, the organization of joint events became the main agenda of the meeting of the RASPP leadership and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation

Mr. Ambassador thanked the RAUIE for facilitating trade and economic relations between Russia and Indonesia, and also determined the action plan for the current year: the 5th Indonesia festival in Moscow in July 2020, a business forum in early April with the participation of the Minister of Commerce of Indonesia. The Embassy of Indonesia also noted that in organizing events it will rely on the support of the RAUIE.
Vahid Supriyadi also noted an increase in Russian-Indonesian tourist flow. Compared to 2016, the number of tourists from Russia and Indonesia doubled and reached 160 thousand people a year. Over the same period, the Indonesian tourist flow to Russia has grown 6 times, from 5 to 30 thousand people. In addition to mutual interest in the cultures of these countries, Russia and Indonesia are linked by the high importance of Islamic culture, therefore Indonesia is interested in developing relations with the Muslim regions of Russia, in particular with Chechnya and Tatarstan, as well as in establishing supplies of halal products, as well as in importing Russian wheat .
The Embassy of Indonesia is interested in supporting the RAUIE on migration policy issues:
“It is difficult to obtain a Russian visa. But now the issue of simplifying the regime is being discussed, and from 2021 it is planned to launch a platform for electronic visa processing. ”
Particular attention was paid to investment cooperation. The ambassador noted the presence of requests from the Indonesian business for investments in Russia in the field of agriculture, restaurant and hotel business. The Ambassador also invited members of the RAUIE to visit Indonesia with a business mission and get acquainted with the industries, as well as establish business contacts.
