It is obvious that international tourism turned out to be one of the most vulnerable economy areas and suffered colossal losses due to countries closing their borders. Where do Chinese tourists go now, what days of 2020 was the peak of tourist activity in China, what general changes and trends in Chinese tourism can be highlighted, Vice-President of the RAUIE Syuzanna Mkrtchyan told about these and many other things during the first day of the I St. Petersburg Business Tourism Forum "Northern Palmira".
“In total, in 2019, 1.5 million tourists from China arrived in Russia, in 2020, according to our expectations, the increase in the number of tourists from China should have increased by at least 10%. But 2020 has been a big challenge for the hospitality industry. The decline in tourist flow from China also affected the number and volume of transactions in the five popular consumer market segments: fast food, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels and boutiques. Also, the closure of the borders had a very strong impact on Russian citizens, as in recent years China has become one of the main tourist, medical and educational destinations. At the same time, we are not discouraged. The RAUIE Visa Center continues its work: at the moment we are issuing type C visas (for crew members), as well as legalizing documents. Despite the fact that the registration at the Consulate of China is currently 2-3 months, we can process your documents as soon as possible, ”said
Syuzanna Mkrtchyan in her speech.
The RAUIE is the official partner of the largest Chinese electronic tourism platforms - Ctrip and Russia-online.cn. It is necessary to prepare for the tourist season 2021 in advance and advertising is one of the most efficient tools to attract tourists.
