President of the RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich spoke at the opening ceremony of the 5th Forum for Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation held in Beijing. The event was organized by the ASEM Cooperation Center for Science, Technology Cooperation, the Beijing Association for International Science and Technology, Beijing Zhongguancun Overseas Science Park Co. and the Union of Western and Eastern Education.
The forum is dedicated to building an ecosystem for cross-border advances in science and technology and European-Asian cooperation for the exchange of young talents. The speakers of the session were also Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences (AMTS) Viktor Ushakov, Consul of the People's Republic of China for Science and Innovation in the Netherlands, Mr. Su Guangming, Vice-President of the British Branch of the Western Association of Scientists, Mr. Lu Zhuhui.
One of the topical directions of the RAUIE activity is to promote the implementation of scientific and technological cooperation, technology transfer and industrial cooperation. To this end, in 2020, a center for scientific, technical and innovative cooperation was created, to help attract investment in innovative projects and find practical application for Russian developments and research in the Chinese market.
In 2020, the RAUIE decided to create an All-Russian organization, and at the end of last year a branch was opened in the Irkutsk region. In order to develop and implement programs of international technological cooperation, the RAUIE Regional Department in the Irkutsk Region and the Republic of Buryatia is working to create an international research and development (R&D) center.
Vitaly Mankevich: “Realizing the potential of the eco- and biotechnology industry can stimulate the development of non-resource non-energy exports of Russia to the Asia-Pacific region and the attraction of foreign direct investment to Russia in innovative and technological projects. In this connection, we are confident that cooperation between Russia and China will only increase. Also, our Union actively cooperates with the leading Universities of China. So, together with Qingdao University, the RAUIE plans to create a Chinese-Russian Center for Medical International Cooperation of the SCO. Our Union hopes to strengthen medical cooperation between China and Russia, establish an international medical exchange practice, and contribute to the development of the Sino-Russian tourism and healthcare industry. "
