The RAUIE participated in a reception at the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

By personal invitation of Her Excellency and Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, Mrs. Shobini Gunasekera, Chairman of the RAUIE Vitaly Mankevich and members of the Union attended the event organized at the Embassy.

The warm and hospitable lunch was held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and open dialogue, marking an important step in strengthening Russian-Sri Lankan relations.

Key topics discussed included:

• Investment cooperation: exchanging views on promising areas of bilateral investments, such as solar and wind renewable energy, agriculture, and textile manufacturing;
• Migration and labor policies: addressing issues related to attracting labor resources and simplifying procedures for Sri Lankan citizens working in Russia;
• Tourism development: exploring initiatives to enhance the tourist attractiveness of both countries, including the development of charter programs and promotion of cultural and historical routes;
• Cultural cooperation: discussing opportunities for joint events — festivals, exhibitions, educational programs aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties between Russia and Sri Lanka.

The RAUIE highly values the Embassy’s willingness for an open and substantive dialogue and thanks Mrs. Shobini Gunasekera for the invitation and warm reception.
