Vice-President of the RAUIE Maxim Kuznetsov took part in the Hong Kong Trade Development Council webinar "Adapting to the New Business Reality: Challenges, Opportunities and Practical Cases".
The speakers of the event were Leonid Orlov, Head of the HKTDC Representative Office in Moscow, Sergey Vikulin, Chairman of the Russia-Hong Kong Business Cooperation Association, Katerina Daskevitsa, Chairman of the Baltic-Hong Kong Trade Association, Ruben Nariyants, Director of Forward Logistics Ltd.
The speakers shared their experience of adapting to new business realities, talked about changes in the supply chain, moving to the online space and future trends in the development of retail and e-commerce.
Maxim Kuznetsov noted that Hong Kong exhibitions are an excellent platform for finding partners and concluding long-term relationships. I would especially like to note the Asian Financial Forum, which aroused great interest among RAUIE members, especially from the banking sector.
Maxim Kuznetsov highlighted the basic problems of importers, collected by experts on foreign trade of the RAUIE for 10 years.
“The problem on which it is worth focusing special attention is the search for a reliable counterparty. Unfortunately, at exhibitions you can also find unreliable contractors or intermediaries of varying degrees of unprofessionalism. Be sure to inspect the factories and verify the supplier with the involvement of professionals, so that he can check on the spot whether the product or equipment meets your request. There are a lot of small and medium enterprises in China, each market has its own players. The contract should be drawn up with the involvement of a lawyer who is well versed in Chinese law. Depending on the complexity of the contract, this will cost you $ 800-3000. This approach will solve many problems."
