On January 23, the RAUIE held a meeting with the leadership of the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation. It was about the development of business cooperation in the field of migration policy and the promotion of Russian business in Vietnam, as well as attracting Vietnamese investors to Russia.
Representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam thanked the RAUIE for their assistance in developing Russian-Vietnamese cooperation. At the end of 2019, trade between our countries amounted to about $6 billion. The Embassy of Vietnam is actively developing cooperation with Russian regions, in particular, the Ambassador visited the Vladimir region, where he personally was able to assess the investment potential.
Mr. Nong Duc Manh made the main emphasis on the problems of the visa regime for Vietnamese citizens:
“If for Russian citizens there is a visa-free regime for 15 days and for visiting Phu Quoc island up to 30 days, then it is difficult for Vietnamese citizens to visit Russia. During the visit of the State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin to Vietnam, the issue of visas was raised. I hope that through direct dialogue we can improve the situation. We are interested in developing cooperation with Russia.” the Ambassador noted.
Vitaly Mankevich noted that any business begins with friendship:
“the RAUIE holds informal meetings between Russian and Asian business circles with the participation of the leadership of embassies and Russian authorities. Therefore, we invite you to join and take part in such meetings.”
Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
Nong Duc Manh noted the relevance of cooperation issues, and on behalf of the embassy promised to take measures, in particular, to recommend cooperation on theRAUIE basis to Vietnamese businessmen.
Aleksey Palchikov, Vice-President of the RAUIE, took the initiative to open a representative office of the Union in Vietnam:
“I would like to receive more information on tourism and the culture of Vietnam, which we can post on our resources. It would also be useful to post our information on your channels.”
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop an event-plan for 2020, as well as to develop trade and economic cooperation, including the export of Russian grain, meat products, fertilizers, food and cooperation on migration issues.
