Vitaly Mankevich takes part in EEC seminar on trade barriers with China

On June 30, the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) hosted a seminar on identifying trade barriers and potential areas of cooperation with the People's Republic of China. The event was chaired by Andrei Slepnev, Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the EEC.

RAUIE Chairman Vitaly Mankevich took part in the seminar, delivering a comment on behalf of RAUIE and its members.

Key topics discussed:

• What barriers do companies from EAEU member states face when entering the Chinese market (technical, veterinary, sanitary, phytosanitary, customs, quantitative restrictions, domestic market protection measures, climate regulations)
• Which Chinese raw materials, components, and industrial equipment are critically important for the EAEU's manufacturing sector
• Whether there are any disruptions in the stability of supplies from Chinese counterparts
• Which areas of cooperation with China are of interest in the context of implementing the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and the PRC

The seminar was held with the aim of compiling the agenda for the sixth meeting of the Joint Commission on the Implementation of the Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and the PRC, scheduled for October 2026.
