In honor of Youth Day (August 12), the Creative Industries Committee of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, in collaboration with partners, presented a diary-guide for chess players in Russia and Belarus.
"Chess Planet Kitarama" is a promising project aimed at popularizing chess and family leisure. It is a relevant and accessible format for cultural exchange for children and teenagers, creating conditions for identifying future potential among the youth for the development of the countries' economies.
"Young chess players are the intellectual gene pool of the country: future doctors, leaders, scientists, educators, and military personnel. Chess players are the human resource potential. It is necessary to cherish and support children capable of thinking and analyzing independently, making strategic decisions," emphasized Vitaly Mankevich, Chairman of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
This guide fulfills an educational mission and was created in tandem with Russian and Belarusian chess trainers, experts in public diplomacy to popularize chess and Russian-Chinese cooperation in the 75th anniversary year of the establishment of Russian-Chinese diplomatic relations.
"The diary is one of the projects of the 'Chess Planet Kitarama' program, which is aimed at the development of intercultural cooperation and serves as a tool to identify talented children, as well as popularize the Chinese language and promote Russian culture. In particular, our project contains information about famous chess players from the BRICS and CIS countries, Chinese culture, and logical games popular in China, such as the game of Go (Wei qi/Weichi) and Xiangqi," commented Ekaterina Andreas, Deputy Head of the Committee for Creative Industries of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and author of the project.
In the Kitarama diary, a specially designed format for working with stickers is implemented. This algorithm for working with stickers, which determine the effectiveness of learning, allows the trainer to provide individual feedback to each student, and parents can also use stickers as a system of control, encouragement, and motivation.
Comment from the Chairman of the Expert Council of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, orientalist and journalist Y. V. Tavrovsky:
"The interaction between Russia and China is growing in many directions and increasingly resembles a large and well-cut diamond. The most important reason for the convergence of these two vast civilizations I see in the high level of intellectual development of our peoples. We, Russians and Chinese, are comrades in reason. Separated by rivers and deserts, taiga and mountains, we seamlessly unite on the boundless expanses of thought. Chess is a symbol of the triumph of natural intellect, which does not need letters or hieroglyphs to express the magical alloy of thought, intuition, and inspiration. The language of chess is universal and is best suited for expressing mutual friendly feelings."
In the 2024-2025 season, with the support of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and partners, chess tournaments are planned within the project "Chess Planet Kitarama", aimed at developing cooperation among public organizations in Belarus, Russia, and China.
