The Kurgan Region (Zauralye) is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation located in the southern part of the West Siberian Plain, in the basins of the Tobol and Iset rivers. It borders Kazakhstan to the south. It is part of the Ural Federal District and is a part of the Ural Economic Region.
