Putin awarded the head of the China Media Group with the Order of Friendship

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding the General Director of the China Media Group  Shen Haixiong with the Order of Friendship. According to the document, the award was presented "for a great personal contribution to strengthening friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and China."



Recently, the head of the Russian state also announced his readiness to further expand partnership with China, despite all attempts by the West to drive a wedge between Moscow and Beijing. As Vladimir Putin noted, Russian-Chinese bilateral relations have reached their highest level in history, are in the nature of an all-encompassing strategic partnership, and are also considered a model of effective interstate interaction in the 21st century.

It should also be noted that Shen Haixiong and Vladimir Putin are personally acquainted: in 2018, a month after his inauguration, the Russian leader gave an exclusive interview to a Chinese journalist.

In 2021, the CGTN-Russian TV channel (part of the China Media Group structure) entered the basic package of the nationwide television broadcasting of the PRC. Now it is available for viewing in all cities and provinces of China.
