The fourth China Business Forum 2022 started on February 8, 2022 in Moscow. Within the framework of the forum, meetings were held with Chinese investors and representatives of Russian and Chinese public authorities. The RAUIE acted as a co-organizer of the forum. On the first day, the issues of economic, investment and trade cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The event consisted of a closed breakfast meeting, a plenary session, keynote speeches, signing of agreements and a closed meeting of the RAUIE regional heads.
The forum was opened by the Executive Director of the Synergy Business School, Alexander Raginya, who emphasized the importance of the event for the development of mutual cooperation between the two countries: “During the forum, we will enrich each other with new knowledge and tools for effecient work with China, exchange relevant information and solutions, which together will allow the development of Russian-Chinese business.”
“Today, the China Business Forum is not just an information event on working with China, but an international trade and investment forum and an exhibition of advanced products and services for business,” said Anna Fomicheva, Vice President of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE), co-founder of the DigitalVED business platform, Vice President of the Equium club.
In the plenary session devoted to attracting Chinese investment in Russian projects and trade relations between the Russian Federation and China, the speakers noted the importance of increasing the volume of mutual investment and developing trade. Foreign economic activity is an important component of both the Russian and Chinese economies. Despite the pandemic, investment continued to grow in 2021 and bilateral cooperation has been deepening.
Vitaly Mankevich, President of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE), spoke about the latest cooperation trends between the countries: “Over the past 5-10 years, China has changed a lot: in fact, it has turned from an agrarian country into a high-tech power. Our Chinese partners produce great technological products, which we are increasingly exporting to the Russian Federation and with which we are replacing American and European brands. If in 2015-2016 the Chinese invested only in Russian oil and natural resources, now our partners are actively entering the Russian market with their products. For example, Haval cars and Haier household appliances conquer the Russian market. We have also changed the structure of exports: if we used to sell weapons, oil and gas, now we are focusing on food, machine tools and various equipment. Financial instruments have changed and become more perfect. Now there are a lot of tools to check and place an order in China: factoring, deferred payment, Sinosure lending (China's export agency) - all these opportunities are available to entrepreneurs. And we at the RAUIE are actively helping to master them and use the maximum opportunities for developing business with China.”
Gao Qi, head of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade in Russia (CCPIT), stressed the high resilience and viability of Russian-Chinese trade and economic relations amid repeated outbreaks of COVID-19 and a tense global economic recovery. “In 2021, during the pandemic, Russian-Chinese relations developed. Bilateral trade also continued to develop and reached $146.8 billion. This contributes to the $200 billion goal set by our leaders by 2024.” said Gao Qi. The speaker is confident in the continuous and rapid development of trade and investment cooperation between China and Russia in 2022.
In the final part, Maxim Kuznetsov spoke about RAUIE business support programs. In his speech, he highlighted a program for the free search of industrial equipment and goods from China, a export support program and entry into Russian retail with pay-for-performance
