Among the main topics discussed by its participants were the export of agricultural products in new market conditions.
Due to the changed market conditions, the export of agricultural products from Russia since the beginning of the year amounted to $4.29 billion, which is 8% lower than the same period last year. Such data are provided by the Federal Center for the Development of Exports of Agro-Industrial Products (FGBU Agroexport) under the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to experts, export volumes decreased the most in the grain market. Last season, our country accounted for about 20% of world wheat supplies, this season - 17%. But even with an unfavorable development of events, it will be difficult for Russia to be removed from the world market.
In this regard, exporters are considering the possibility of reorienting their activities, replacing traditional markets with new ones. According to Klim Komarov, Chairman of the RAUIE Committee on the Agricultural Market, the Chinese market is currently becoming a key export vector for Russian producers. To ensure the growth of exports, it is necessary to improve the transport and logistics infrastructure. This solution will allow companies to concentrate on products which the Chinese market needs and building long-term relationships with partners. Of course, support at the government level from both countries is also important for efficient interaction. Klim Komarov also spoke about the possibilities of developing trade relations with Chinese partners in the field of agro-industrial complex.
Also, representatives of various leading Russian companies - exporters of agricultural products took part in the panel discussion:
- The position of Soyuzmoloko was presented by Artem Belov.
- Andrey Dalnov (Rosselkhozbank) spoke about the possibilities of interaction between agricultural producers and exporters with banks.
- Mikhail Melamed (Association for the Promotion of the Circular Economy "Resurs") presented a look at the role of GMR in the circular economy using the example of agriculture.
