The Orenburg Region is becoming a key driver of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the Volga Federal District. This was stated by Vitaly Mankevich, Chairman of RAUIE, in an interview with Sputnik.
The visit of a large Chinese delegation (30 people, including heads of major companies, Liu Jun – Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation, and Gao Qi – head of CCPIT Representative Office) was organized by RAUIE in the first ten days of April, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy and CCPIT, in cooperation with the administration and the Governor of the Orenburg Region.

Why the Orenburg Region?
- Geography – the shortest route from Europe to China, with existing railway and road routes.
- Trade – bilateral trade volume exceeded $210 million in 2025, with steady growth continuing.
- Investment – more than 20 investment proposals have already been prepared for potential investors.
- Orenburg Region Special Economic Zone – a key platform for joint projects, which is a member of RAUIE.
Results of the visit:
- A conference on strengthening cooperation between the Orenburg Region and Shandong Province (including the city of Qingdao – a pilot zone for "China-SCO").
- Meetings with entrepreneurs and regional authorities.
- Negotiations with potential partners.
As Vitaly Mankevich noted, the regional leadership, the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation, and CCPIT highly appreciated the outcomes of the visit:
"In terms of trade, industrial and investment potential, the Orenburg Region is the most attractive region in the Volga Federal District for Chinese business. As the agreements reached are implemented, it will become a 'locomotive' for Russian-Chinese cooperation."
RAUIE will continue its systematic work to expand business ties between Russian regions and Chinese provinces.
