RAUIE Chairman Vitaly Mankevich, in a comment to Sputnik, assessed the dynamics of Russian agricultural exports to China and named the factors that will help surpass the $10 billion mark by the end of 2027.
In May 2026 alone, Russia exported over 900,000 tonnes of agricultural products to China worth nearly $715 million. Growth compared to May 2025:
- in physical terms – +48%
- in value terms – +23%

Why is exports growing? Vitaly Mankevich named 6 factors:

Qualitative change in demand in China – the Chinese middle class is willing to pay more for natural and safe products.

Positive eco‑friendly image of Russian products – even at a higher price, Russian food is perceived as premium and trustworthy.

Comprehensive government support – subsidising logistics, certification, trademark registration, and participation in exhibitions.

Constant presence at exhibitions (CIIE, SIAL China) and in business missions – direct contacts with buyers from major retail chains and marketplaces.

Rapid adoption of Chinese e‑commerce platforms by Russian suppliers.

Reorientation of certain products from markets of unfriendly countries to China.
Background: By the end of 2025, Russia delivered agricultural products to China worth $7.98 billion, with China accounting for 18.5% of Russia's total agricultural exports.
